Today marks a landmark day not only for Rubica®, but also for the broader consumer cyber security market. Today we are announcing that Rubica’s personal cyber security solution now enables $1 million cyber fraud coverage from PURE Insurance.
Why is this a big deal?
Personal cyber fraud losses, like wire transfer fraud and email fraud, can easily reach millions of dollars. One of the most common questions we hear is, “Will anyone insure me from financial loss related to cyber crime?” Until today, the answer has typically been “no,” because insurance companies haven’t offered robust personal loss protection from a cyber event. However, now Rubica’s advanced cyber security protections mitigates the risk of loss and allows insurance companies to offer broader coverage to individuals. Rubica plus insurance means you can have both preventative and restorative protections. Think of it like having a monitored home smoke alarm that calls the fire department, combined with homeowner’s insurance – for coverage just in case.
What does this mean for Rubica customers?
Any Rubica customer who uses PURE for their homeowner’s insurance can purchase up to $1 million of cyber insurance coverage through PURE’s new product, PURE Starling™. This includes coverage for financial loss resulting from online and offline fraud, services to help assess and respond to cyber extortion threats, and coverage for restoration after an attack. PURE Starling is currently available in Arizona, Colorado, Connecticut, New Jersey, South Carolina, Tennessee and Wyoming, and will be introduced to additional states throughout 2017 and 2018.
What does this mean for individuals considering Rubica?
All insurance brokers in the U.S. that represent PURE have information about Rubica and how it enables the top coverage levels for cyber fraud insurance. Insurance brokers will be able to explain the joint benefits of having the best cyber protection and cyber insurance as a full personal risk mitigation plan.
